Dr. Arabia is an internationally recognized surgeon and executive leader in thoracic, cardiothoracic vascular and transplant surgery. He serves as a Physician Executive with the Advanced Heart Program at Banner – University Medical Group in Phoenix, Arizona, and as a Professor of Surgery and Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. The doctor has extensive physician leadership experience, most recently as Associate Director of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California; Associate Director and Comprehensive Transplant Director at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; Chair of the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery – Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona; and Surgical Director of the Heart Transplant Program in the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery – Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. He earned an engineering degree from Tulane University and his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then went on to complete his residency in general surgery at Tulane University Affiliate Hospitals in New Orleans, Louisiana, followed by his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He completed his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Arizona in 2006.
